- Looking for an outside specialty sales role where you'll be responsible for driving new business sales, retention, and growing program-specific business.
- Manage client relationships to boost profitability, satisfaction, and organic growth.
- Opportunity for cross-selling programs where applicable.
- Achieve annualized new business sales goals targeting companies related to program-specific verticals.
- Collaborate with Practice Leader/Program Executive to focus on a primary industry specialization (vertical).
- Retain at least 92% of business year over year with the help of leadership and account management staff.
- Research and develop a list of prospective centers of influence and lead sources within assigned target groups.
- Create customized messaging for individual programs to attract new business leads and secure first appointments.
- Formulate and execute a sales business plan with effective prospecting strategies.
- Identify and overcome sales obstacles, support cross-selling strategies, and explain competitive differentiation and solutions.
- Use market knowledge to innovate for clients and engage in national and regional vertical meetings and video calls.
- Participate in meetings preparing for first appointments, advancing, closing, and retaining business.
- Utilize USI's contact management and sales automation tools, input accurate information, and collaborate with internal teams.
- Engage in professional development, industry education, and training for program-specific knowledge.
- Represent USI positively in various events, seminars, and networking opportunities.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 3+ years experience in insurance, carrier, or related sales roles, inclusive of engaging with senior executives.
- High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred.
- Maintain a current insurance license or willingness to obtain one.
- Proficient in sales cycle software/CRM and Microsoft Office suite.
- Personable, highly motivated, goal-oriented, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of Property and Casualty insurance, with a consultative and resourceful approach.
- Excellent organizational, follow-up, and strong customer focus skills.
- Ability to engage with senior management and travel up to 50% of the time.
