- A minimum of a PhD in nursing.
- Evidence of research leading to establishment and sustaining a strong research enterprise, and have pedagogical skills to teach in areas relevant to nursing leadership
- Prior teaching experience in baccalaureate and/or graduate nursing programs or credentials to meet the North Carolina Board of Nursing's educational requirement is required.

Description
The School of Nursing, within the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, is seeking an assistant/associate professor whose teaching and scholarly research agenda is focused on community health.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide student-centered teaching and clinical instruction of undergraduate and graduate-level courses.Faculty in this role will provide student advising, student mentoring and recruitment, curriculum development, and engagement in program assessment accreditation-related procedures.
The ideal candidate will be expected to:
(i) establish and sustain a strong externally-funded research program in their field of expertise; (ii) produce an excellent record of scholarly publications; (iii) incorporate modern pedagogical skills in teaching nursing courses to undergraduate and graduate courses; (iv) supervise and support undergraduate and graduate student projects; and (vi provide service to the School of Nursing, the college and university as well as to appropriate community and professional organizations. This is a 9-month, tenure-track position.

At the graduate level, HCHHS offers four graduate degree programs including the Master in Physician Assistant Studies (PA program), Master of Social Work (MSW), Master of Science in Health Psychology, and Ph.
D in Social Work.Three additional doctoral programs are being developed; Doctor of Nurse Practice (DNP), PhD in Applied Psychology, and PhD in Sociology.
The HCHHS is also home to the Center of Excellence in Integrative Health Disparities and Equity Research (CIHDER), a hub for multidisciplinary research and community engagement efforts to alleviate health inequities.
The HCHHS capitalizes on the synergistic relationships between these departments to develop advanced academic programming, enhance the mentoring of trainees, and conduct collaborative multidisciplinary research and scholastic activity.

Must hold a current unrestricted license as a registered nurse in North Carolina or have eligibility to obtain North Carolina Registered Nurse License if candidate is an Advanced Practice Nurse, must hold national certification
