    About Vantage:

    Vantage is a cloud cost visibility and optimization platform, alternatively known as a FinOps platform. We help companies of all sizes manage their cloud infrastructure costs: everything from individual developers all the way up to multiple Fortune 500 customers. Our co-founders are industry veterans who have been former infrastructure engineers and product managers at DigitalOcean and AWS. The company is an efficient and hard working team of ~30 employees across the US with a New York City center of gravity. As we transition to the growth phase of the business, it's likely our team size will at least double into 2024.

    Our current customers include Square, Aflac, Rippling, Compass, Ripple, PBS, and Starburst.

    Vantage has raised $25M in total venture capital, most recently a $21M Series A financing round in March of 2023.     About The Role:

    You will report directly to the CTO and be our first engineering management hire. We are looking for someone who loves to ship and can help us accelerate delivery on our roadmap while maintaining a high bar for quality. The team is small and nimble and we are looking for someone who thrives in that environment, but can also help scale the team as we invest more in R&D.

    What You Will Do:
    • Work directly with our founders and collaborate on ideation and delivery.
    • Build and manage full-stack engineering teams, to guide the development of features, services, and infrastructure
    • Coach your direct reports to have a positive impact on the organization and support their career growth.
    • Collaborate with engineers, designers, product, and senior leadership to translate our vision into a tangible roadmap on a quarterly basis. Break down complex projects into smaller pieces and lead the iterative design and implementation process.
    • Be a thoughtful technical voice within the team, aiding in diligent architectural decisions and fostering a culture of high-quality code and engineering processes.
    • Work closely with our talent organization to identify and recruit exceptional engineers..
    • Contribute to and take ownership of processes that drive engineering quality and meet our SLAs.
    What We're Looking For:
    • Strong passion for making developers highly productive.
    • A track record of shipping product.
    • 5+ years of software engineering management experience.
    • 10+ years industry experience designing and building distributed data systems.
    • Ability to work in a team environment, collaborate well, and mentor junior engineers.
    • A strategic mindset and strong sense of what to prioritize for maximum impact.

    Pay & Benefits

    The estimated annual US base salary range for this role is $200,000 - $250,00. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and location. Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and education stipends.
