    Ultrasound Technologist- Part-Time

In order to accomplish this mission, FoundCare operates a Federally Qualified Health Center offering pediatric and adult primary care, chronic disease management, infusion, behavioral health counseling, laboratory work, X-rays, and dentistry.

    Purpose:

    The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of technical activities. Under minimal supervision, ultrasound Tech performs basic diagnostic ultrasound procedures, as requested by a licensed clinician.

    Essential Job Functions:
    • Perform a vast array of general, breasts, and obstetric ultrasound exams
    • Process images to digitally send to a Radiologist for interpretation
    • Perform a variety of tasks involving the operation of ultrasound equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate
    • Demonstrate proficiency in performing all ultrasound procedures, including interventional procedures and ultrasound
    • Monitor ultrasound section procedures and supply charges to ensure completeness and accuracy
    • Maintain and calibrate equipment
    • Organize daily work schedules and prepare supplies and equipment rooms to meet physician requirements
    • The tech works closely with the radiologist and other members of the healthcare team presenting data and images for interpretation and help in any interventional procedures
    • The tech must demonstrate independent judgment when performing procedures and addressing other unusual or difficult situations
    • Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care
    • Perform other related duties incidental to the work therein.
    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    • Ability to endure short, intermittent, and long periods of sitting and standing in the performance of job duties
    • Accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, e.g. pens, pencils, calculators, computer keyboard, telephone, etc.
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Graduate of an accredited program for Ultrasonography
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer required
    • Certified in diagnostic ultrasound in accordance with state requirements
    • Ability to perform high-quality work with little supervision.
    • Excellent patient and communication skills.
    • ARDMS Registered Sonographer required
    • Advanced Registry in Breast required
    • Current CPR (BCLS) certification required
    • Bilingual English/ Spanish or Creole preferred
    • Be able to work Part-Time
