Job Description SummaryThe Machinist (CMM) will be responsible for measuring and handling Aeroderivative gas turbine parts in accordance with all GE manuals and specificationsJob DescriptionEssential Duties & Responsibilities: Measure and handle Aeroderivative gas turbine parts in accordance with all manuals and specifications, standard procedures, quality processes and alerts Set up and run various measuring tools (align and secure holding fixtures, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machine) Be able to modify, operate and program Computer Numerical Control and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
Responsible for quality, making sure the machines are set up properly, working well, and producing quality product (assuring the Scope of Work and GEK Manuals coincide with the (program before machining any rotor or nozzle).
Also responsible for generating Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) if there are any issues with the product.Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on Machine Shop machines (including disassembly of machines or equipment, using hand tools or power tools to examine parts for defects and replace defective parts where needed)Utilize a wide variety of precision tooling such as indicators, micrometers, calipers, drills, depth gauges, other measuring equipment to achieve accuracies at specified tolerance.
Transport parts from area to area as directed include operation of material-moving equipment such as forklifts, jib cranes, overhead cranes etc.
Will have ownership of compliance, safety, quality, and productivity in machine shop areaProvide product line support in the assembly / disassembly of LM6000, LM2500, LMS100, and modules as needed Serve as change agent to help improve on current processesAbility to read Blueprints.
Perform other related duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 years' experience as a MachinistHigh School Diploma/GEDBe able to read, evaluate and respond to product specifications and blueprints, and perform routine mathematical calculations (basic math, geometry, and trigonometry)
Be able to be certified to use overhead cranes and their associated rigging systems, as well as drive various types of forkliftsBe able to read and communicate in the English languageBe able to lift 40 poundsDesired Characteristics:
Minimum of 3 years knowledge prior Turbine engine or module assembly / disassembly experienceComputer literateAbility to utilize CAD/CAM software to convert detailed drawings/procedures to machine programsCapacity to handle multiple simultaneous projectsExtensive experience in the following areas: CNC operation; drilling; tapping; milling; grinding; quality control; and safetyAbility to use precision measuring equipment to achieve accuracies at of toleranceHydraulic and basic electrical experienceMachining experience with Danobat machinery

The pay for this position is $34.41 Hour.
