    Position Specific Description

    NextEra Energy operates Application Support within a single shared services organization called Application Management Services (AMS). Within AMS Support there is a focused support area for the applications that directly serve our customers including multiple business lines. The AMS Support Business Analyst will provide functional support for the supported area and assist with the offshore managed services contractors to provide day to day application support. Individuals will be accountable for the reliability, performance, security, and continuity of IT systems and supported business processes.

    Responsibilities

    • Serve as functional support for the AMS supported AMI Business Unit applications.
    • Provide Lifecycle planning for the supported suite of applications
    • Will provide first level support for the Managed Services team on escalated issues to L3
    • Support the Disaster Recovery Operation for the AMS supported area
    • Transition and update documentation of applications for the AMS supported area
    • Provide Fault Tree Diagraming to determine single points of failures
    • Perform Event Management Analysis of the applications with the AMS supported area
    • Provide Major Incident support during major application triages
    • Provide Problem Management Analysis on reoccurring and major impacting incidents
    • Internal (AMS) visibility and status of critical issues and escalations.
    • Assist with the triage when issues occur within the application portfolio.
    • Perform ITIL Change management activities and schedule for all performed changes.
    • Work with Dev/Ops teams on the delivery, integration and transition of projects and deliverables into operational support.
    • Audit Compliance and Support.
    • Provides functional influence to the organization to contribute to achieving the company's goals
    • Ensures high levels of ongoing system and application support in production environments
    • Vendor management-engage vendor for UIQ and Sensus for planning and issue resolution
    • Outage scheduling for maintenance/changes
    • Ensure ticket resolution with strong follow-up, ensuring 24/7 response to P1/P2 tickets
    • Works with AMS IT leaders to provide overall IT alignment with business strategy
    • Supports innovative technologies to deliver new ideas that enable business transformation
    • Assists in establishing functional ideas to help align with current and future business needs
    • Assist third party functional technical and outsourcing teams to deliver operational support objectives
    • Ensures processes are conducted in line with applicable standards and company policies
    • Willingness to work independently and solve issues and escalate when needed

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's - Information Systems, Computer Science
    • Knowledge/experience with 3 tier application architecture
    • Knowledge and use of Service Now for Incident, Request and Problem management
    • Knowledge/experience with application and OS lifecycles, including Security Patching
