    BAE Systems seeks an experienced Program Engineer Manager (PEM, Chief Engineer) to lead the engineering effort of a program in the field of advanced aircraft autonomy, an exciting opportunity within the mission planning organization, guiding a multi-disciplinary team in an Agile, fast-paced development environment for the Mission Management and Autonomy (M2A) portfolio.

    The qualified candidate will partner with the Program Manager to ensure smooth program execution, strong team building, defending work share and growing scope.

    The candidate demonstrates proven execution of a full scale program through excellent risk assessment, outstanding leadership, and strong decision making with solid analysis skills.

    The PEM provides technical responsibility and leadership to cross-functional teams through the design, development, fielding, and support of the system.

    The PEM represents the technical team to project managers, functions, and executive leadership, and provides responsibilities for developing the overall technical solution for a product or system.

    The PEM is the decision authority between the System Architect and engineering team and is responsible for developing the overall technical solution for the system.

    The PEM is expected to influence the design, development, test and verification.

    In addition, the PEM is responsible for identifying and communicating technical risks and opportunities between the design team, system architect and program management team.

    The PEM will perform as the "Voice of the Customer" for system design, technical performance, and other system needs, provide technical stewardship of the engineering effort for the entire program ensuring the solution meets customer programmatic and technical requirements within the allocated engineering cost and schedule.
    • Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status.Required Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor of Science degree in engineering/technical discipline, and 8+ year(s) related experience or equivalent experience, training and/or certificationsDemonstrated leadership skills (soft skills, strategic thinking, business acumen, supervisory experience, building teams, building customer relationships)


    Proven execution of a full scale program through excellent risk assessment, outstanding leadership, and strong decision making through analysisStrong planning and organizational skills with the ability to diagnose, resolve complex problems and to develop improved methods to increase program efficiencyKnowledge of autonomous aircraft mission planning and route optimizationExperience with customer/stakeholder communication, management, relationship building, and customer satisfactionProficient analyzing customer needs, and reviewing user stories and technical tasks to achieve various Agile objectives and iterative development schedulesDeep analytical and problem solving abilities.

    Reviews and judges the suitability of capability solutions and the planned approachProven written and oral communication skills, including presentation skillsAbility to obtain Special Program clearancesPreferred Education, Experience, & Skills Masters of Science degree in Systems Engineering or related disciplineProficiency with Agile management tools (e.g., Jira, etc.)Experience developing proposals, ECPs, and whitepapers focused on new businessExperience with strategy development and executionKnowledge of open, standards-based architectures, interfacesExperience in Program Pre Mortem analysisDevelopment experience of a User Interface supported by backend servicesPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range:
    $ $239140Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures.

    However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to:
    business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience
