    Job Description:
    Our client, a provider of best in class and affordable dental, vision, life and disability insurance plans to small and large employers, is seeking a President and Chief Operating Officer. This position requires a strategic and innovative thinker who can develop and articulate a clear understanding of the organization's strategy from all perspectives and find creative solutions to complex legal problems. The President and Chief Operating Officer will work with the chief executive officer (CEO) to develop the corporate vision, oversee day-to-day operations, and supervise company managers to ensure the corporation obtains its desired results toward that vision. This executive leader supervises all corporate functions, including legal, finance, human resources, actuarial and underwriting, information systems, customer service, claims, and support services. This professional must bring strong, pragmatic business acumen with the ability to see the need for a project and to manage that project to completion.

    Responsibilities:
    • Provide visionary and strategic leadership for the organization.
    • Establish the company's goals and strategies while presiding over the entire workforce.
    • Oversee company budgets and ensure resources are properly distributed.
    • Direct the organization's financial goals, objectives and budgets.
    • Supervise all other executives and managers within the organization to ensure departments meet their individual goals.
    • Develop and implement the organization's guidelines for day-to-day operations in conjunction with the business units.
    • Hire, train and terminate employees as necessary.
    • Provide timely reports on the company's progress towards goals to the CEO and the board of directors.
    • Ensure members of the board of directors have the information necessary to perform their fiduciary duties and other governance responsibilities.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with other associations and industry officials that are in the best interest of the company.
    • Direct and oversee professional development, performance evaluations, compensation, personnel policies and procedures.
    • Participate in new product development.
    Requirements:
    • 10+ years of related executive-level experience
    • Advanced degree in business or equivalent work experience, focused in accounting and/or marketing
    • Experience interacting with and/or managing board operations, including preparing materials for board meetings, influencing the structure of agendas, and advising on various issues such as corporate governance and fiduciary duties, ethics and compliance, and strategic transactions
    • Ability to move easily between a hands-on, operations-focused view and a strategic outlook
    • Demonstrated leadership skills
    • Ability to recognize the business consequences of legal advice
