    Job Description

    Position Summary

The Bolton Lab is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to advance research in cancer genomics, with a focus on acquired pre-leukemic mutations in the blood, clonal hematopoiesis.

Our group has led some of the largest and most comprehensive studies of how environmental factors the evolution of clonal hematopoiesis and promotes its transformation to leukemia (Bolton, Nature Genetics 2020) and other outcomes (Bolton, Nature Communications This work has in turn informed clinical management guidelines for individuals with clonal hematopoiesis (Bolton, JCO, 2019; Steensma and Bolton, Blood 2020) and clinical trials lead by our group.

The postdoctoral researcher will lead projects to characterize the dynamics of clonal hematopoiesis and the progression to adverse health outcomes.

Work will include analysis of targeted sequencing data, SNP array and RNA-Seq data (both bulk and single cell) for comprehensive characterization of genomic events.

Opportunities are available to perform murine and in vitro modeling of clonal hematopoiesis and leukemia in collaboration with the Daniel Link and Matthew Water labs at Washington University.

Depending on the interest of the researcher this could be the focus of the postdoctoral work. There will also be opportunities to develop additional independent projects with clinical collaborators at Washington University.

The postdoctoral researcher will have the opportunity to work within a team of scientists within and collaborating with the Bolton laboratory.

In addition to high-quality research facilities, career and professional development training for postdoctoral researchers is provided through the Career Center, Teaching Center, Office of Postdoctoral Affairs, and campus groups.
