    Description
    The Atlanta Legal Aid Society seeks an Accounting Associate to work at its headquarters in downtown Atlanta. Our non-profit law firm represents low-income persons in a variety of civil legal matters.


    Responsibilities:

    The Accounting Associate works closely with the Financial Manager performing a variety of duties including accounts payable, recording cash receipts, and making bank deposits; preparing and processing payroll; timekeeping; filing and maintaining accounting records; and other tasks as needed.


    Qualifications:

    Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience with general accounting functions and payroll processing. Experience with non-profit accounting and/or Paylocity payroll service is highly preferred.

    Communication and listening skills, experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, the ability to work in a team and alone, adaptability, and appreciation of diversity are required.

    Candidates must be able to pass a criminal background check.


    Salary and Benefits:

    The hours for this position are 20 – 37.5 hours a week. The salary is $45,600+ depending on experience and the number of hours worked per week. The program provides generous fringe benefits, including paid holidays, paid time off including parental leave; health, life, and long and short-term disability insurance; partial payment for dependent health insurance; a salary reduction option for a flexible spending account; educational loan reimbursement up to $600 per month (after a $65 per month deductible and set off of other loan reimbursement amounts); and a voluntary tax-sheltered annuity with 3% match. Legal Aid also offers a hybrid work schedule that allows staff to work up to 2 days remotely subject to management approval and a probationary employment period.
