    We're currently searching for a Coordinator for Case Management & Administration to join our Residential Well-being team in Blacksburg, VA to help us in our mission. So, if you're committed to advocating for students facing obstacles in their lives, please keep reading.

    HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS ROLE:
    1) You'll be joining the Residential Well-being team; a department centered on creating intentional residential communities that are characterized by belonging, flourishing, compassion for self and others, and meaningful engagement.
    2) You'll be reporting to the Managing Director for Residential Well-being and Inclusion and the Assistant Dean for Residential Case Management and Support, in a Regular twelve-month, 100% administrative professional appointment.
    3) You'll be responsible for serving as a primary point of contact for identifying students who need support, including mental-health issues, relationship conflicts, social adjustment, financial needs, academic challenges, and family concerns, among others.
    4) You'll have the chance to grow and take advantage of a developmental plan with opportunities to advance within the Department and the Division.
    5) You'll be offered a base compensation package between $44,000-$48,000 along with an on-campus apartment or $50,000-$54,000, along with a which includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more

And in our new model, professional staff and student leaders are assigned to a group of students, rather than to buildings. These changes may sound small, but they underscore philosophical transformation at the heart of Residential Well-being

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required

    • Experience advising and/or providing advocacy for individuals and managing confidential and sensitive information with a high level of discretion

    • Demonstrate a positive outlook and the ability to work through obstacles, solve problems, maintain calm, and think outside the box in situations with a high degree of ambiguity

    • Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures through a student-centered lens and to identify and address institutional barriers is essential

    • Be team-oriented and demonstrate adaptability, initiative, and the ability to respond effectively to crises, including after hours

    • Demonstrate a high degree of curiosity, optimism, and generosity when working with students and developing relationships with campus partners

    • Be well-organized and demonstrate the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

    • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master's degree in a relevant field

    • Experience advising and/or providing advocacy for students in a complex higher education environment

    • Knowledge of student-development theories and current issues college students face

    • Creativity in identifying, brainstorming, implementing, and evaluating unmet needs of underserved and underrepresented communities

    Mon-Fri 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, with evening meetings weekly and on-call throughout the month
