- Participate in pre-function detailing, including: table settings, place cards, cookie trays, chair covers and food labels. Ensure banquet set up details by adhering to BEO and performing all checklist duties.
- Continuously communicate with Banquet Manager / Captain and Team regarding execution of event to ensure efficient service and guest satisfaction, including prompt resolution of complaints.
- Work in a team environment and exhibit a high level of professionalism, hospitality and confidence when making contact with guests. Observe and follow up with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and / or event service.
- Assist Banquet Captain by directing guest flow to buffet line by releasing tables for food service.
- Provide food and beverage service to an assigned section and provide assistance with other sections, as needed.
- Efficiently deliver meals to the correct recipients with attention to special requests (i.e. food allergies) in a high volume, fast paced environment.
- Observe and follow up with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and/or event service.
- Manicure tables by clearing used dishware, placing used dishware in designated areas and emptying trash to maintain a neat / clean "front of the house" service area.
- Works until end of designated shift and complete post function duties, including return of centerpieces / gifts / card boxes, wrapping of cake / cookies, removal of linens from tables and routine cleaning procedures.
- Follow outlined procedures to (1) ensure inventory and proper storage of banquet dishware and other equipment, (2) replenish supplies and communicate inventory in a timely and efficient manner, and (3) minimize misuse and breakage of china, glassware, linen and supplies and to ensure that no re-usable goods are wasted.
- Report to work on time for scheduled shift and in appropriate uniform / nametag and in compliance with resort appearance standards; long hair must be up off shoulders.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Must meet New York minimum age requirement to server alcoholic beverages
- Basic technical skills required to operate POS and credit card machine; prior POS experience strongly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy of transactions in a fast paced environment while handling multiple priorities with a high degree of professionalism.
- Verbal and written communication skills to interact with guests and associates at all levels.
- Ability to use independent judgment to make decisions that conform to department / company policies while resolving customer issues or gaining cooperation guests in the absence of direct supervision.
- Desire to function in a team environment with a positive attitude to ensure successful operation of facility.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum 1 - year prior experience in Banquet Server or related Food & Beverage Service Role required.
- TIPS training certification as well as Serve Safe or equivalent preferred.
- Must be able to walk, stretch, bend, and stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, reach, stretch, and climb without any difficulty.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without difficulty.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays required and willingness to flex up or down in scheduled work hours (based on business need).
