    Gameyard Social is searching for experienced candidates for the position of Cook/Prep.

    Requirements

    PERFORMS THE FOLLOWING TASKS TO PROMOTE TEAMWORK :

    • Practices proper time reporting (i.e., punches in and out accurately).
    • Arrives to work on time, in the proper work attire, and ready to work.
    • Is neat and well-groomed for every shift and in an immaculate and proper work attire.
    • Demonstrates a helpful, positive attitude at all times to guests and employees.
    • Understands and adheres to all safety, sanitation, and administrative procedures.
    • Provides complete and timely communication to other employees throughout the shift.
    • Is prepared to conduct weekly maintenance duties.
    • Completes all assigned tasks and duties requested by managers.
    PREPARES FOR A SHIFT BY PERFORMING THE FOLLOWING TASKS:
    • Communicates with managers and other employees to learn of daily specials, events, and important shift information.
    • Retrieves sufficient food product from storage based on daily production needs and par levels for station.
    • Sets up the station with food products and utensils and turns on equipment to ensure the station is ready for production.
    • Cuts, slices, unwraps, and prepares raw ingredients (e.g., fresh produce, meat cuts) for use on the line and for use in food prep recipes.
    • Mixes and assembles recipe ingredients using proper portioning techniques and recipe procedures to create prepared food products.
    • Checks and adjusts temperature of equipment to ensure food is cooked and stored at the proper temperature.
    • Inform manager about broken or malfunctioning equipment.
    EXECUTES THROUGHOUT THE SHIFT BY PERFORMING THE FOLLOWING TASKS:
    • Monitors product supply and replenishes stock when necessary to ensure that sufficient food product remains on hand.
    • Reads order tickets and/or listens to what dishes are called to determine what items need to be prepared.
    • Prepares food items using recipe instructions, proper portioning methods, and cooking standards.
    • Uses proper cooking equipment to prepare food items.
    • Prioritizes cooking and preparation times of each order to ensure proper pacing of guest meals.
    • Adjusts ingredients and ingredient amounts by substituting various food products to accommodate guests' special requests.
    • Prepares food items using recipe instructions, proper portioning methods, and cooking standards to fulfill guests' orders.
    • Inspects color, consistency, firmness, and temperature of food products to ensure food is cooked to standards and guests' specifications.
    • Inspects food orders before sending them out to ensure proper plate presentation, portioning, and recipe adherence.
    • Follow the prep list created to plan duties.
    • Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they are organized and easily accessible.
    • Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking.
    • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and other meal prep.
    • Sets up workstations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes.
    • Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces and parboiling food.
    • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash.
    • Uses proper cooking equipment to prepare food items and to complete food orders.
    • Cleans station floors, counters, tools, cutting boards, and preparation surfaces using the proper cleaning solutions to ensure the station remains sanitized.
    • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.
    • Ensures adequate food stock.
    • Helps minimize over-production.
    • Properly store food items in designated containers.
    • Update managers when stock of food items or supplies are low.
    • Assists other employees as needed.
    EXECUTES AT THE END OF THE SHIFT BY PERFORMING THE FOLLOWING TASKS:
    • Turns off, breaks down, and cleans equipment according to proper procedures and as directed by the manager.
    • Prepares and stores unused food products using FIFO procedures to ensure freshness of product and eliminate waste.
    • Cleans station floors, counters, tools, cutting boards, and preparation surfaces using the proper cleaning solutions to prepare the station for the next shift.
    • Checks out with a manager before leaving to ensure all duties and side work have been completed and performed to standard.
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
    • Ability to understand and follow directions from others.
    • Ability to perform basic math functions.
    • Ability to memorize and replicate food production procedures.
    • Ability to read recipe cards.
    • Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen.
    • Ability to work under pressure.
    • Attention to detail.
    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    • Ability to bend at the waist and lift items up to 50 lbs. to waist level.
    • Ability to move items up to 50 lbs. for distances of up to 25 feet.
    • Ability to remain standing and active for an 8-12 hour shift.
    • Ability to hear, understand, and respond to employees' and guests' requests in a loud environment.
    • Ability to tolerate exposure to cold and hot temperatures (below 40 F and above 140 F) throughout the shift.
    • Skill and coordination in lifting and carrying tubs and trays of dishes.
    • Manual dexterity in using kitchen utensils and equipment.

    $15-$18/Hour
