    Accounting Manager

    Job Description:

    Our client in For Collins is seeking a Accounting Manager to join its Accounting and Finance team. This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced atmosphere where you will lead cost accounting for an internationally recognized brand in the Spirits Industry. The position reports directly to Senior Leadership.

    Job Summary:

    The Accounting Manager will plan and direct the accounting activities of the Accounting & Finance department under the direction of senior leadership.

    Supervisory Responsibilities of Accounting Manager:

    • Manage the accounting staff who are responsible for, accounts payable, collections, fixed assets, and inventory.
    • Recruit and hire accounting and financial staff and conduct performance evaluations.
    • Coordinate department training programs for new staff and identify training needs for current staff.
    • Demonstrates understanding, support, and consistent application of the Company Vision, Mission, and Core Values.

    Duties/Responsibilities of Accounting Manager:

    • Oversee preparation of financial forecasts and annual budgets.
    • Oversee supply chain initiatives, cost forecasting, and inventory management.
    • Develop appropriate costing methods and lead the implementation of any necessary change in methodology.
    • Collecting and analyzing data about a companys operational costs.
    • Recommending changes to the companys processes and policies to reduce costs and maximize profit.
    • Manage the companys balance sheet, accounting books, and account reconciliations.
    • Manage month-end close within NetSuite, ensure accurate and timely reporting.
    • Establish internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
    • Develop standard operating procedures and desktop procedures for the accounting team.
    • Oversee the timely production of periodic financial reports; ensure that the reported results inform management and lenders with accurate financial information.
    • Coordinate with outside auditors and provide needed information for the annual external audit.
    • Present recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
    • Collaborate with other teams in the company, including legal, HR, and IT.
    • Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.

    Required Skills/Abilities of Accounting Manager:

    Preference will be given to candidates with brewery or distillery cost accounting experience.

    • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Acute attention to detail and excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Proficient in NetSuite and MS Dyn 365 BC and other ERPs.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Must be comfortable handling confidential information with the utmost discretion.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelors degree in accounting or business administration required.
    • Eight years or more of related experience required.
    • Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

    Salary Range:

    $90,000.00 to $110,000.00 per year.
