    Primary purpose:
    Provide engineering design and engineering support for the Company's Ammonia Production initiatives.

    The successful candidate will support selected ammonia production technologies, lead/review PDP packages, FEED studies, and oversee Detailed Engineering design till commissioning and start-up.

    The individual must possess the ability to associate and communicate with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.

    The Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading the engineering team in early FEED and overall project development initiatives through application of experience in process design and technology implementation, with specific focus on the ammonia and syngas industry.

    The Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating the technical engineering activities associated with assigned projects, technologies and/or clients.


    Key Responsibilities:
    Manage the technical direction and mentoring discipline engineers as assigned to support the engineering efforts.

    Manage client and team relationships on multiple assigned projects to help ensure that the process design basis (PDP) is technically sound and meets the client project objectives.

    Provide technical oversight of assigned projects from early Front-End Engineering Design(FEED) through detailed design and construction.

    Plan, organize and direct the execution of feasibility studies, technology evaluations, and conceptual designs as required to support client projects or initiatives.

    Actively maintain current knowledge and understanding of market trends, and technologies. Provide periodic updates to division management in support of strategic initiatives, as well as marketing and sales efforts.
    Establish and maintain relationships with prospective and existing clients.
    Identify opportunities and support business development efforts to prepare submittals, proposals, presentations, contract negotiations, and related activities.

    Provide technical leadership and representation of the company through active participation in conferences and technical seminars, including activities such as writing papers, delivering presentations and/or supporting conference marketing initiatives and events.

    Coach and mentor sales pursuits and proposal development teams.
    Mentor project staff by providing guidance, instructions and expert level technical advice.
    Manage and support the quality review process for assigned projects, including the feasibility or soundness of proposed plans.
    Manage work activities of technical personnel in the production of process engineering deliverables.
    All other duties as assigned.
    Represents the company towards clients, partners, subcontractors and vendors for technical subjects and may contribute to business development initiatives by reporting information or suggestion to Project manager
    Ensures technical project execution within time and budget, monitoring compliance with QHSES requirements and contractual commitments
    Defines engineering coordination procedures, issues the basic data for design, and approves general project specifications
    Ensures timely approval of engineering and requisitioning documents from the client, as well as timely technical and economical definition of change orders and/or claims
    Contributes to schedule preparation, actively controls schedule execution and proposes corrective actions when needed
    Ensures timely internal and external reporting on engineering / requisitioning activities to project manager and client
    Contributes to respect of material and man/hours budget by proposing optimized technical solutions
    Ensures coordination of interfaces among engineering disciplines and with procurement, construction, vendors, licensors, and partners
    Contributes to defining and coordinating the permitting process with local authorities to obtain approval on engineering documents
    Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related field from an accredited program.
    Minimum 15 years related experience in design engineering or consulting required. Previous Engineering & Construction (E&C) experience is preferred.
    Experience leading Front End Engineering Design, Detailed design and construction on process facility projects preferred.
    Advanced degree and/or professional designations (Professional Engineer license) are desirable.
    Expert knowledge of process industry design concepts and best practices specific to the ammonia industry.
    Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
    Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    Proficiency in the use of process technical tools and software including process
    simulators and equipment rating programs.

    Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:


    Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).

    Must possess a valid PE license from any state in USA.
    Knowledge of industry's regulatory compliance issues and standards.

    Must be able to take direction from supervisor(s), keep required work schedule, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.

    Ability to take on additional tasks and shift priorities on short notice.
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    Strong focus on safe work practices.
    Able to complete work assignments with moderate supervision in an acceptable timeframe.

    Experience in the design or production of ASU, Ethylene, Cracking or Cogeneration facilities.
    Experience acting as owners engineer for large scale facilities through the life of the project

    The employee is regularly required to use hands to type, touch, handle, or feel. The employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk and climb or balance.

    The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.


    Working Conditions:
    This is a full-time position.
    Essentially indoors but must be able to work outdoors in project & maintenance activities.
    Travel from 20% of time to engineering offices, field sites and company offices with occasional overnight stays.
    May be required to carry a cell phone and be available to respond during working and non-working hours.

    The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
