    Summary
    This is a back office position, preferably on-site in the office in Sacramento. The ideal candidate
    is a qualified journeyman electrician with seven-plus years of on-site electrical experience
    starting out as an apprentice and working their way up to receiving their Journeyman Card.
    Experience should include mostly commercial systems including traditional low-voltage models
    inclusive of 3-phase work


    Other experienced requirements include:

    • Vast knowledge of
    underground/trenching

    work including installation of various Christy boxes;
    trench models, trench preparation, actual digs, and layouts;

    • Installation of MC, rigid, EMT, PVC (Schedule 80/40), and cable tray experience required;
    • Ability to read, understand, and follow plan sets from the general layout of a full plan set
    down to the electrical set and the cross-connection to the general set. Must be able to read and
    understand the supplementary schedules and augment the schedules with the unwritten hardware
    requirements;

    • Knowledge of various lighting systems and how they are configured and tied into the panel
    configuration;

    • Experience with installation procedures, wiring diagrams of primary and subpanels up to 1200
    amps to include associated switchgear;

    • Must have an understanding of the various communication and emergency signaling systems
    customarily used with w/apartment complexes, hotels, and retirement facilities.

    The ideal candidate has and accepts technology as the primary tool to perform their duties. Must be
    capable of basic spreadsheet operations, ability to draft documents using good
    grammar, and be willing to learn on their own using a software's knowledge base.

    Duties/Responsibilities
    A typical work week results in the generation of six to eight proposals to clients. The generation
    of this many proposals is a result of working on twelve to eighteen different projects
    simultaneously.

    Each estimate/proposal follows a similar pattern:

    • Receive initial information package from the client including plan set, scope of work, and a general
    understanding of the request.

    • Review the plan set, generate Requests for Information, and communicate with w/pertinent parties
    to ensure a full understanding of what is required by the electrical subcontractor.

    • Using McCormick Estimating Software, begin the initial estimating process.
    • Submit requests to vendors/suppliers and subcontractors for the respective elements/materials
    needed to complete the project.

    • Follow up with vendors/suppliers and subs to ensure accurate and timely receipt of needed
    information.

    • Ensure estimate is completed in a timely manner to prepare proposal(s) and submit preliminary
    packages to clients for discussion purposes.

    • Using the responses from the client, vendors/suppliers, and subs and in agreement with the
    management team, finalize the proposal for submission to the management team.

    • Attend regular weekly meetings with w/the management team and submit/explain the prepared
    estimates/proposals

    for acceptance.

    • Submit the final package to the client.
    The core requirement is to submit six to eight proposals per week of varying scopes up to and
    including small industrial-size projects. Typical proposals include
    materials/labor/equipment/subs/direct

    job expenses for the following types of commercial-level

    projects:

    • Small Projects
    ○ Restaurants
    ○ Retail locations/outlets
    ○ Parking lot lighting
    ○ Signage
    ○ Retrofit Projects

    • Medium Projects
    ○ Apartment complexes
    ○ Entire building structure (Storage Units/Office

    Buildings/Churches)
    ○ Grocery/large retail locations
    ○ Medical Center
    ○ New construction restaurants/retail complexes

    • Large Projects
    ○ Hotels
    ○ Senior living/Multi-family/Apartments
    ○ Warehouse / Distribution centers
    ○ Movie Theaters ○

    In addition, many proposals are sent back with scope changes and/or requests for alternative
    options, i.e. variations of the same proposals.

    The overall responsibility of the Electrical Estimator is to be able to prepare and deliver six to
    eight completed packages per week follow up with clients via communication as to the status of the
    proposal/estimate and keep management informed and up to date as to the status of submitted
    packages.

    of a Electrical Estimator
    Must be self-reliant to ascertain the scope of work for each project and utilize multiple resources
    to get the best prices. The company has a preset expectation of job margins and it is the
    Electrical Estimator's job to comply with the company's requirements while ensuring all elements of
    costs are included in the estimate.

    Your experience in this career field is what provides the confidence you need to make sure you have
    covered all the required and customary issues each job will incur. That experience is what provides
    the confidence that you have covered all the scope of work and priced it accordingly.

    Rejection, denial, and disbelief from clients is normal. You must be able to explain the whys and
    the underlying costs when the client challenges your estimated line items. Thus, the ability to be
    respectful while being criticized is essential. In addition, you will be challenged by other
    members of the management team and must be willing to explain in detail your estimates and the
    underlying cost drivers of an individual project.

    Timeline
    It is assumed by RRE, Inc. that the initial candidate will have zero estimating experience. The key
    characteristic we are looking for is someone with the drive to become an Electrical Estimator over
    the course of two years.

    During the first three months, the estimator is learning the software, systems, and processes to
    deliver initial estimates to the current Electrical Estimator for approval. By the end of three
    months, the candidate will be able to deliver two to three small project estimates per week
    including drafting of proposals and communications w/various parties.

    Within six months, the estimator will be able to deliver six to eight small projects with one
    medium-sized project per week.

    By the end of the first year, the estimator will be able to deliver six to eight proposals per week
    inclusive of two medium size projects. The estimator will be capable of preparing a large project
    package.

    By the end of the second year, the estimator will no longer need guidance nor input from office
    personnel and will be able to deliver

    estimates/proposals/packages

    on a consistent basis including communications w/management, clients, vendors, suppliers, and subs. In the overall scope
    of work, the estimator will be the Electrical estimator on the team and will be capable of
    delivering around $30M of proposals per year.

    Compensation
    This is an office position with traditional office hours and no provision is made for the company
    to provide any sort of transportation.

    The estimator is a salaried position.

    Other Tasks/Requirements
    As with any office-based position, the Electrical Estimator may be called upon to perform other
    duties and address additional responsibilities including lifting weights up to 70 lbs, standing for
    short periods of time, and exposure to traditional office environmental conditions.

    In addition, the Electrical Estimator will be called upon to perform some cleaning services inside
    the office including furniture moving and some light maintenance. Other functions will include
    technology setup, working with printers/copiers, and other office types of equipment.

    Meetings are customarily scheduled on a regular basis including daily updates to the owner, project
    managers, and clients. Your input is necessary in order to have a properly functioning
    office, back office operation, and company-wide operation.
