    Description

    Under the administrative direction of the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) holds a key, high-visibility, executive leadership role, overseeing our exemplary medical team and directing systems, strategies, and processes to maximize holistic health outcomes. This position will oversee the provision and delivery of our integrated care treatment model (mental health, behavioral health, physical health and medication management services) at our seven licensed outpatient facilities.

    The CMO is responsible for compliance with all medical policies, directives, rules, regulations, and clinical performance standards of the state and federal government, and serves as the corporation's ultimate authority on medical issues. He/she provides professional medical services and other related work as appropriate and designated by the President and Chief Executive Officer.

    The CMO functions as a vital member of the executive leadership team, exchanging information and expertise with team members and others to identify and implement strategies to meet the company's goals and objectives, manage all critical areas of the business, conduct strategic planning, and ensure success of the organization while meeting the needs of its members, employees, stakeholders and the community.     REQUIREMENTS

    Education, Certification, and Experience Requirements

  • Doctorate of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine. Specialty in psychiatry preferred.
  • Licensed by the State of Arizona; Board-certified; valid DEA certification required.
  • Requires 10+ years' experience in a clinical, academic, or administrative capacity.
  • Requires a strong community health/public health orientation, experience in patient care management, and all the qualifications of a psychiatrist.
  • Must maintain a valid Arizona state fingerprint clearance card.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license.
  • Knowledge, Ability, and Skills

  • Knowledge of the spectrum of mental health illness, current DSM-5 and ICD-10 codes and descriptions, psychotropic medications, and crisis intervention required. Knowledge of community-based and family-centered behavioral health services preferred, as is thorough knowledge of the Maricopa County behavioral health system preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience with administrative operations, processes and procedures involving leadership, supervision and employee professional development.
  • Ability to multitask, solve problems, resolve conflict, and stay organized.
  • Ability to maintain excellent employee relationships and provide excellent customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to utilize multiple types of office equipment (i.e. phones, copier, fax, etc.)
  • Ability to type 25 to 40 WPM is preferred, with proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
