Description
New Way Trucks Final Assembly - Chassis Prep
Primary Purpose: Prepare the chassis to fit the garbage truck body. General Description: Make adjustments as needed to the bed of the chassis to ensure proper fit and function for the garbage truck body.
Essential Duties
Prepare the chassis for the body of the truck by installing a variety of brackets.
Modify the frame of the chassis to fit the truck body by moving around fuel tanks, relocating battery boxes, air dryers, air tanks, and routing air and fuel lines.
Use plasma cutter, torch, and grinder to make modifications.
Ensure that the finished product matches the work order and any change orders.
Other Duties
Clean and maintain an orderly work area.
Good communication.
Math skills including fractions and angles.
Read tape measure.
Read and comprehend technical documents, blue prints, and work orders.
Operate forklift and overhead crane.
Operate equipment in a safe manner and report hazards associated with the equipment or its operation to the Safety Department and Maintenance Department.
Use a variety of hand and power tools.
Assist other individuals in areas when needed.
Other duties as assigned
Education: Crane and forklift certification preferred. Experience: 1 year(s) preferred in Automotive Mechanics.
