    JOB TITLE: MANUFACTURING AUTOMATION ENGINEER

    FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT

    COMPANY: TDK/Headway Technologies, Inc.

    SUMMARY:

    As a Manufacturing Automation Engineer, you will be collaborating with the Sr. Manager of Automation Engineering to develop Fault Detection and Classification (FDC) and Process Control Systems (PCS) applications for semiconductor equipment. This role involves creating IIoT gateway infrastructure to integrate sensors and transducers, extracting sensor data for PLC controllers or system circuitry. Located in Milpitas, California.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Develops and delivers FDC models and PCS applications for semiconductor equipment using third party software
    • Designs bridging software applications for electrical systems and IIoT/FDC servers
    • Analyzes and validates data, creates reports, and presents findings
    • Collaborates with MIS on equipment and software purchases
    • Administers and maintains the ARTIST system
    • Monitors and optimizes the FDC system
    • Uses statistical modeling and algorithms for automation problem-solving
    • Partners with engineering groups for equipment performance enhancement
    • Develops reporting schemes for rapid issue resolution
    • Adheres to safety policies and procedures
    • Performs other related duties
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering; Master's degree preferred
    • Three years of experience in software/hardware modeling, simulation, or algorithms
    • Proficient in Java, Python, and experienced in C#, C++, Windows/Linux OS, and more

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Understanding of communication protocols and electronic hardware
    • Knowledge of SEMI standards, GEM/SECS interfaces, and semiconductor processes
    • Expertise in FDC systems, PCS applications, electric systems, and circuit design
    • Ability to analyze data, communicate effectively, and work independently
    • Strong problem-solving and time management skills
    • Flexible, with demonstrated critical thinking abilities
    • Ability to develop reports, models, and simulations

    The annual salary for this position ranges between $96,655.20-$142k plus bonus and benefits. Individual pay varies based on responsibilities, skills, education, and experience. Salary range is subject to periodic modification.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    The Automation Engineer works in an office setting Monday to Friday, with potential travel between buildings. Occasional work in a manufacturing facility may require ESD sensitive attire.
