Paragon's comprehensive services support youth and families through challenges as they step down from inpatient hospitalization, comprehensive support for child welfare-involved families, and services for youth with complex needs including depression, behavioral challenges, trauma, family conflict, and substance use.

    We are actively seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriptive Authority (APM RXN) or Physician Assistant (PA). Initially, compensation will be based on hourly demand. There is potential for a transition to full-time employment within the next 6-12 months.

    Job Description: Chief Clinical Nursing Officer - Requires Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriptive Authority (APM RXN) or Physician Assistant (PA)

    Position Overview

    General Purpose:

    The Chief Clinical Nursing Officer will play a pivotal role in developing organizational best practices, policies and procedures and providing comprehensive behavioral health care services to individuals seeking support and treatment from Paragon Behavioral Health Connections. This position requires advanced clinical expertise, leadership skills, and an unwavering commitment to improving the mental well-being of our clients. The APM RXN or PA will collaborate with multi-disciplinary professionals to ensure the best possible patient care and outcomes. The APM RXN or PA will be responsible for implementing policies to ensure evidenced based clinical decision-making, diagnosing and treating illnesses, and managing patient care.

    Responsibilities:

    • Client Care: Responsible for providing psychiatric services to clients in a variety of clinical settings during scheduled hours. The scope of services includes outpatient psychiatric evaluations and medication management services for youth and adults.
    • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic initiatives to advance the quality and effectiveness of care delivery in alignment with leadership, organizational goals and industry best practices.
    • Clinical Governance: Implement, establish and maintain robust clinical structures, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and evidence-based practices.
    • Quality Improvement: Lead efforts to continuously monitor, evaluate, and improve clinical outcomes, patient safety, and the overall quality of care through data analysis, performance metrics, and feedback mechanisms in partnership with leadership and Quality Director.
    • Staff Development: Provide leadership and support for the professional development and competency of clinical staff through education, training, mentorship, and career advancement opportunities as appropriate.
    • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Foster collaboration and communication among teams, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to optimize patient care coordination, interdisciplinary teamwork, and continuity of care.
    • Resource Management: Oversee the allocation and utilization of resources, including staffing levels, equipment, supplies, and technology, to ensure efficient and effective service delivery while maintaining fiscal responsibility in partnership with leadership.
    • Clinical Innovation: Drive innovation and implementation of new clinical practices, technologies, and care delivery models to enhance patient outcomes, improve efficiency, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Patient Advocacy: Advocate for the needs and preferences of patients and their families by promoting patient-centered care, respect for patient rights, and effective communication throughout the care continuum.
    • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate clinical risks, adverse events, and patient care issues through proactive risk assessment, root cause analysis, and development of preventive strategies.
    • Leadership Development: Recruit, mentor, and empower staff and leaders at all levels of the organization to cultivate a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation within the nursing workforce.
    • Community Engagement: Engage with the local community, professional associations, and academic institutions to promote nursing excellence, foster partnerships, and support initiatives that address healthcare needs and disparities.
    • Ethical Leadership: Uphold ethical standards and values in all aspects of nursing practice, including integrity, respect for diversity, confidentiality, and adherence to professional codes of conduct.

    • Continuing Education: Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development to stay abreast of emerging trends, innovations, and best practices in nursing leadership, healthcare delivery, regulatory requirements, and healthcare policy

    Education:

    • Colorado APN with a Colorado RXN or
    • Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of Colorado
    • Master's or doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in psychiatric/mental health or
    • Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program

    Experience:

    • At least 5 years in a psychiatric setting or with a population primarily focused on behavioral health treatment.
    • At least 5 years providing direct client care to persons receiving treatment for psychiatric disorders.
    • Ability to work with both adult and youth/child populations.

    Preferred Experience:

    • 7+ years of experience as a psychiatric provider.
    • Experience in telemedicine.
    • A bi-lingual (Spanish-speaking) applicant is preferred.

    Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:

    • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado.
    • Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or licensure as a Physician Assistant in Colorado.
    • A valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance are required.

    Job Type: Full-time / Hourly

    Hourly rate equivalent: $120,000-$145,000 per year ($72.12 to $96.15 hourly)
