    Job Title

    A highly experienced opto-mechanical engineer with a strong foundation in mechanical design, analysis and simulation is required to join our team. This individual should have fundamental knowledge of optics and product development; be excellent at working in a multi-disciplinary environment and efficiently communicate with both engineers and scientists.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with physicists and optical, electrical, mechanical, software, and systems engineers to support all aspects of our sub-systems' product-development lifecycle.
    • Design systems for lab to rugged environments including high shock, vibration, and temperature extremes while maintaining precise optical alignments to ensure performance.
    • Analyze and prove designs' performance through structural and thermal finite element analysis (FEA) and/or optical ray tracing simulations.
    • Develop characterization procedures, component manufacturing, assembly and alignment, stability and reliability testing of designed sub-systems by formulating and executing structured test plans.
    • Mentor junior opto-mechanical team members and help the team to standardize designs and implement processes that boost productivity based on unique circumstances.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, optical, or other relevant engineering field and at least 6 years of relevant industry experience. Master's degree or higher in the same disciplines can be a substitute for experience.
    • Proficiency and passion in opto-mechanical design, precision alignment of optical and laser systems, SolidWorks, GD&T drawing practices, laser beams, reflective and refractive optics design, opto-mechanical fixturing, optical test equipment, and design of optomechanical systems to achieve desired performance subject to given time and cost constraints.
    • Proficient in MS Office and proficient in Zemax and PLM and ERP tools.

    Salary Range:

    $125,000 - $163,000 per year.
