The USA TODAY Network seeks a South Florida Connect reporter to cover timely and audience-focused stories from West Palm Beach to the Florida Keys. The ideal candidate is quick and flexible with topic-focused story ideas, able to write at volume in varied formats.Responsibilities include monitoring emails, social media and community groups for story leads, efficiently writing several stories per day and optimizing content for search ranking and user experience. Requirements include expertise in social media platforms, command of concise writing and AP style as well as good fact-checking and reporting skills.
- Monitor developing stories across news, social media platforms for key topics important to South Florida communities.
- Easily adapt between various types of work such as short-form articles or more elaborate projects while utilizing data analytics tools like Google Trends.
