MUST HAVES:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Civil engineering (emphasis in structural)
2. 5-10 years as a civil/structural engineer within the electrical industry
3. Must be a certified EIT or PE (PE is preferred)
4. Experience working with concrete and steel
5. Experience using AutoCAD

PLUSSES:

1. Experience using MicroStation
2. Experience designing pipe bridges

Responsibilities:

1. Perform identification, analysis, and resolution of engineering, technical and design problems related to electric utility substations.
2. Effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities.
3. Thorough, timely, and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
4. Continuous improvement of job-related engineering, technical and professional knowledge, skills, process development, and performance.
5. Should be able to understand and create substation civil-structural drawing packages (foundations, structural steel, bus and cable) utilizing national code, industry standards and best practices.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Insight Global is looking for a Civil-Structural Engineer for a large engineering Client in Pittsburgh, PA. The ideal candidate will provide civil-structural engineering and technical expertise and support to Transmission Substation engineering and design teams for the purpose of delivering safe, cost-effective, and quality engineering and design services. They are expected to support discipline specific work for projects, perform responsible charge engineering duties, and manage project schedules and budgets, and also support proposal development and project cost estimating.
