    Job Purpose:

    The Clinical Operations Trainer is responsible for the consistent delivery of high-quality training to new and existing staff, on OrthoIllinois electronic health systems, processes and procedures.

    Assists in developing and implementing process improvement and programs throughout the organization. The Clinical Operations Trainer is the subject matter expert for all core educational content.


    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    Develops and coordinates onboarding training sessions for all new clinical staff including clinic floats, clinic leads and physician assistants.

    Develops and coordinates training sessions for existing clinic staff on process improvements and implementation of new systems, processes and procedures.


    Develops and coordinates the Registered Orthopedic Tech class through The American Society of Orthopedic Professionals

    Develops, updates and deploys all core educational content for both new and existing staff.

    Assists with onboarding of new providers (physicians and mid-levels).

    Develops teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials and reference works, as applicable.

    Creates, modifies, and evaluates treatment templates and orders template sets for new and existing providers.

    Creates and updates patient education documents based on provider preference.

    Administers reporting for bi-annual chart audits and monitor MIPS reporting; follow-up with low performing staff.

    Identifies areas in need of improvement and assist in the development of new processes to streamline and improve patient experience.


    Communicates and enforces appropriate documentation and billing standards to staff.

    Conducts bi-monthly clinical operations meeting which includes creating content, PowerPoint presentations, videos and quizzes to ensure staff understand and are compliant.

    Participates in cross-functional teams to identify and solve system issues.

    Provides coaching support to all clinical staff.

    Administers training announcements, uploading new training modules and CPR class schedules.

    Performs ongoing skills assessments of staff to identify training needs, such as post-training assessments and shadowing, 90-day assessments.

    Provides formal feedback and evaluates performance for staff during formal performance reviews.

    Participates in hiring decisions and interviewing clinical staff throughout the organization.

    Reviews and recommends updates to policies and procedures.

    Formulates, interprets, and/or implements management policies or operating practices.

    Education and Experience Requirements:
    Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) or Registered Orthopedic Technician (ROT), required

    Four years' experience training core clinical roles preferred

    Four years' experience with training methodologies and adult learning preferred

    Four years' experience with process improvement initiatives and leading work flows preferred

    Prior EMR experience required, preferably eCW

    Prior healthcare management experience is preferred.

    CPR certification

    Working knowledge of Microsoft and Google Suites


    Environmental/Working Conditions:


    Working environment is in an office/clinic setting.


    Physical/Mental Demands:


    Sit, stand, walk, and remain seated for extended periods of time, climb stairs.

    Lift up to 50 pounds.

    Finger dexterity, vision, and hearing.
