Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Class A CDL Driver to join our team at Riverence. As a valued member of our crew, you will be responsible for loading, unloading, and delivering product throughout the lower 48 states.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the assigned vehicle in excellent condition, performing pre/post trip inspections and reporting any mechanical issues to the Maintenance Coordinator or Distribution Manager.
• Identify potential hazards or safety concerns and report them promptly.
• Adhere to all DOT regulations, ensuring compliance with on-duty, driving, sleeper, and off-duty time requirements.
• Provide exceptional customer service through timely deliveries and professional communication.
• Contact customers or secondary carriers when late to coordinate arrival times.
• Report any overages or shortages immediately.
• Report service-related incidents immediately.
• Pick up assigned backhaul on time and coordinate delivery with necessary agencies.
• Suggest route and customer drop improvements to enhance truck routing effectiveness.
• Learn routes to suggest alternate routes in case of weather or breakdown delays.
• Volunteer for extra runs when available, adhering to current schedule requirements.

Supervisory Responsibility:

May be assigned supervision of tasks.

Work Environment:

The worker is frequently exposed to indoor environmental conditions, protected from weather but not temperature changes. The worker is subject to noise, potentially cold and wet conditions.

Physical Demands:

This job involves physical activity, requiring the ability to lift 65 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly. Must pass Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) physical exam.

Travel and Position Type:

Extensive travel required; full-time position with varying hours based on DOT regulations and route assignment.

Required Education and Experience:

• Twenty-one years or older.
• Possess a Commercial Driver's License (Class A).
• Pass D.O.T. Physical and drug screen exams.
• Pass D.O.T. road test.
• Pass Background screening.
• Proven experience operating a Class 8 vehicle.
• Ability to work in temperatures ranging from -20°F to 30°F.
• Ability to work well with others and show a positive attitude.
• Record-keeping ability and ability to read and write in English.
• Must adhere to all Department of Transportation and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
• Must accept assignments of co-drivers with diverse backgrounds.
