A Day in the Life of a Doggie Daycare – Animal Care Attendant

In this role, you spend your day actively supervising dogs in our play yards, ensuring safe, engaging, and positive group interactions. You lead enrichment activities, guide group play, and help reinforce basic training and leadership skills in a calm, confident manner.

Patience and consistency are key. You provide structure, guidance, and affection to help each dog feel safe, comfortable, and confident. After a full day of play, some pups need a bath, and you help ensure they go home clean, relaxed, and happy.

You also play an important role in maintaining a clean, healthy environment by cleaning and sanitizing play areas and facility spaces. You work closely with a supportive team, staying alert, communicative, and focused on safety at all times. Your work directly impacts the well-being of the dogs and the peace of mind of their families.

Qualifications

• Comfortable working hands-on with dogs of all breeds and sizes

• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

• Willing to clean and handle all aspects of pet care (being okay with dirt, fur, and odors is a must)

• Dependable, patient, and attentive to detail

• Positive, team-oriented, and eager to learn

Experience in the pet care industry is a plus but not required - we are happy to train motivated, reliable individuals who share our passion for dogs.

Work Schedule

This position may be full-time or part-time, depending on availability.

• Full-time: 35–40 hours per week

• Part-time: 16–32 hours per week on average

Shifts are typically 8 hours long, scheduled between 6:30 AM and 7:00 PM, with shorter shifts available based on team needs. We offer flexible scheduling to support a healthy work-life balance.

Physical Requirements & Safety Expectations

The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Team members must be able to stand for extended periods, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, sit, bend, twist, and lift or carry up to 50 pounds. Clear vision, hearing, and communication skills are required.
