    Description

    SUMMARY:
    The position will report to the Emulsion Plant Manager and provide technical leadership to the Emulsion Plant. This position is responsible for technical aspects of eight production lines and associated equipment. This includes continual improvement in all key performance indicators. This position will work closely with the other Plant Production Engineers, Plant Supervisor, Shift Supervisors and the Maintenance/Engineering department.


    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Maintain and monitor daily production and quality metrics as well as operation log books to insure optimal plant operation and accurate reportingContinually optimize production operations to maximize the Efficiency and On-Stream-Time of the manufacturing equipmentLead safety training, conduct behavior based safety audits, and provide a strong safety presence in the unit(s)

    Develop and review standard operating procedures to meet ISO9001 and PSM requirementsMinimize/eliminate out of specification production by ensuring equipment is maintained in the condition that is requiredConduct thorough/appropriate non-conforming product and customer complaint investigations necessary to identify root causes and effective corrective/preventive action to continuously reduce the amount of off-spec production and customer complaintsInvestigate/identify causes of waste generation in order to minimize the amount of waste generatedApply troubleshooting/problem solving techniques and resources, as required, to quickly respond to many varieties of operational issuesIdentify, communicate, and eliminate production bottlenecks with Engineering/Maintenance in order to continually maximize production capacitiesTrain the salaried and hourly staff, as appropriate, on technical mattersThese experiences are deemed to be beneficial, but not necessarily all essential:
    Leadership experience in Chemical Plant OperationsDemonstrated ability to make timely decisionsKnowledge of 5S and other Lean toolsKnowledge of PSM, environmental and other regulatory requirementsRequirements: BS degree in Chemical Engineering8-15 years relevant process engineering and/or operations experienceComfortable in fast-paced, collaborative Operations department#J-18808-Ljbffr
