    Description

    Ramirez Asset Management (RAM) is seeking a Corporate Credit Analyst (Analyst) to conduct primary credit research in a collaborative manner with a team of analysts and a portfolio manager specializing in the management of RAMs corporate bond exposures. Active engagement with the asset management group as a whole is also an essential part of the position. The candidate should have a minimum 5 years of prior buy-side experience in all aspects of research and diligence of companies, including financial and industry analysis. A focus on the investment grade finance sector, including U.S. banks, international banks issuing Yankee bonds, U.S. insurance companies, and REITs will be considered a plus. Familiarity with electronic trading platforms would be beneficial.

    Responsibilities

    • In-depth credit analysis including experience with, in particular, U.S. banks, international banks that issue Yankee bonds, U.S. insurance companies, and REITs.
    • Continuous monitoring of credits held with written reviews on at least a quarterly basis; more frequently if a significant event occurs that would alter the companys fundamentals either positively or negatively identifying qualitative and quantitative factors.
    • Identify and recommend relative value trading opportunities to achieve desired allocation targets.
    • Attend client reviews or prospect meetings as needed
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor degree required; MBA and/or CFA (or candidate) preferred
    • Minimum 5 years as a buy-side analyst; focus on finance sector analysis (i.e. banks, insurance, REITs), a plus
    • Strong analytical skills, which include an understanding of the shifting regulatory environment specific to the finance sector
    • Results-oriented, client-centric focus
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Bloomberg skills
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Demonstrated ability to work with a team of investment professionals in a collaborative manner
