    Description


    Insight Global is looking for a CAE Engineer to join an automotive customer hybrid onsite here in the Detroit area.

    SIL/HIL Core Models Engineer The Software in the loop (SIL) / Hardware in the loop (HIL) Vehicle Propulsion System Engineering (VPSE) Team is looking for a highly qualified and motivated engineer to develop vehicle propulsion system plant models applied for propulsion control system performance verification/validation use cases.

    The engineer will be responsible for development and application of physics-based system level models for VPSE technologies (Electric vehicle, Hybrid electric vehicle and Internal combustion engine)

    Required Skills & Experience


    • Experience in propulsion system development (developing and testing propulsion system analytical models)
    • Knowledge of electrified and ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) propulsion systems/components, and their operation and interactions within the system
    • Experience with any 1D system simulation tools (Dymola, Simulink, GT Suite, Amesim, Flomaster etc.)
    • Bachelors in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
    • Experience with programming and automation (MATLAB scripts, Python etc.)
    Nice to Have Skills & Experience


    • Masters or PhD in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
    • Familiarity with version control systems like Github

    Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
