The purpose of the Tractor Trailer Driver position is to transport, deliver and retrieve assorted construction and heavy equipment and to support the needs of the branch in a professional, safe and timely manner.Responsibilities
- Transport, deliver and retrieve assorted construction and heavy equipment
- Operate commercial or non-commercial vehicles in a safe efficient professional manner Promote professionalism excellent customer service attitude Perform vehicle inspections before after pickups deliveries Ensure all delivery documents properly maintained during workday available inspection request management state traffic safety officers Apply knowledge driving driving skills maneuvering various speeds difficult locations heavy traffic inclement weather mountainous terrain tight loading dock areas Secure construction equipment other equipment chaining strapping blocking accordance established procedures DOT policies Maintain open communication Branch Manager central dispatch delivery schedules Observe safety rules regulations customer job sites facilities Herc Rentals related facilities Provide training assistance customers answering general questions regarding safe operations vehicles tools machinery asked customers Report damage Herc Rentals property uncovered driver process picking up equipment from customer Report accidents involving driver or any delays due breakdowns weather traffic conditions problems relating timely pickups delivery Maintain flexibility daily routine respond Management responses customer demands Ensure proper paperwork logs maintained accurately daily basis
