- Performs duties planning implementing educational activities for infants toddlers in Early Head Start Program that comply with federal performance standards Participates in HS/EHS Quality Assurance efforts Plans develops implements daily lesson plans that provide educational enrichment activities for infants toddlers that meet federal performance standards Screens assesses infant toddler aged children determines developmental educational needs develops implements individual education plans complies with federal performance standards Monitors meal snack periods classroom restroom playground activities ensures safe environment infant toddlers Documents children's progress completes all required manual computerized forms reports in accordance with federal requirements Initiates referrals appropriate Head Start Teacher submission required paperwork Uses active supervision techniques maintains positive classroom behavior Develops positive caregiver relationships children Receives satisfactory higher score Infant/Toddler Specialist Success Rubric Maintains comprehensive ongoing portfolio assessment each child weekly observations area example child's work developmental assessment Ensures at least percent children ready preschool Plans classroom activities parents community volunteers Attends participates workshops meetings acquire disseminate information Communicates parents parent conferences written correspondence telephone home visits apprises them child's progress upcoming events classroom activity individual education plan changes relevant information Conducts health checks on children health concerns ringworm head lice other health conditions reports appropriate nurse Reports suspected abuse neglect designated state agency Plans coordinates oversees field trips assigned students Requests supplies equipment use by students classrooms Discussed plans coordinates concerning child family Early Head Start staff Performs First Aid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation CPR needed Attends Sudden Infant Death Syndrome training yearly Maintains strict confidentiality respect Heads Start/Early childhood families staff established policies procedures Attend workshop meeting deemed necessary supervisor Attend required staff parent meetings Discusses coordination concerning student parental involvement Provides physical assistance transportation special needs students Demonstrates sensitivity service population cultural socioeconomic characteristics meets
