    YouthBuild Healthcare member


    Each participant comes to the program with a unique set of employment challenges including lack of a HS diploma or GED, low-income, incarceration, learning disabilities, and history in foster care or homelessness.

    The future of the program depends on the continued success of participants for a full year after they leave YouthBuild.

    YouthBuild participants are expected to actively participate in healthcare training and volunteering. Service work will be conducted at local non-profits volunteering in a variety of positions. This is a 300-hour, full-time service opportunity with a living allowance (supplied by YouthBuild) and an education award.

    You must be a high school dropout willing to work for a GED or diploma while enrolled in the program to be accepted.

    Member Duties :
    *Attend all National Days of Service 9/11, Make a Difference Day, Martin Luther King Day, AmeriCorps Week, and complete first-aid/CPR certification. *Complete volunteer requirements and fully participate in training opportunities. *Maintain confidentiality as a member of a team of professionals. *Uphold the highest level of work ethic standards as the designated role model for success in the workplace. *Respect and honor diversity and exhibit positive communication to all participants. *Assist YouthBuild and AmeriCorps staff to meet deadlines and collaborate. *Other duties as assigned.
