    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The main purpose of this role is to oversee the day-to-day nursing operations of the facility during your shift. This supervision must comply with the current federal, state, and local standards, as well as the guidelines and regulations governing our facility. It is also crucial to follow the directives of the Director of Nursing Services to ensure the provision of high-quality care and life services to our residents.


    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Supervise and assess all resident care and take corrective measures when necessary.
    • Conduct daily rounds with residents and report on the status of nursing care to the Director of Nursing Service.
    • Assist in investigating incidents and accidents to identify causes and implement appropriate corrective actions.
    • Coordinate resident transportation between the Nursing Department and Social Service Department.
    • Manage central supply ordering between the nursing department and the business office.
    • Provide written and oral reports/recommendations to the Director of Nursing when needed, regarding the nursing department's operations.
    • Assist in developing strategies to align nursing services with other resident services for seamless care continuity.
    • Participate in facility surveys conducted by authorized government agencies, as requested by the Administrator or Director of Nursing.
    • Regularly review residents' written discharge plans and contribute as necessary to the discharge process.
    • Handle admissions, transfers, and discharges as required.
    • Complete accident/incident reports as needed and conduct R.N. Assessments for residents involved in incidents/accidents requiring R.N. intervention and care planning.
    • Review the 24-Hour report throughout the shift to ensure accuracy and address any care issues or concerns.
    • Verify census data on the 24-Hour report before the end of the shift.
    • Participate in the Performance Improvement Committee program as assigned, in collaboration with the Administrator and Interdisciplinary Team members.
    • Take part in various facility committees as needed and appointed by the Director of Nursing.
    • Ensure new admissions' rooms are prepared.
    • Accompany physicians on rounds as necessary.
    • Regularly visit residents to assess their physical and emotional well-being.
    • Provide direct nursing care when required.
    • Inspect the nursing service treatment area daily to ensure cleanliness and safety.
    • Contribute to developing and implementing procedures for the safe use of all nursing service equipment.
    • Carry out any other duties as assigned.

    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

    • Must demonstrate the necessary knowledge and skills to deliver age-appropriate care to residents.
    • Should be familiar with nursing practices, medical procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations governing nursing care facilities.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Must hold at least a Nursing degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved Registered Nurse program.
    • Preferably hold a Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
    • Minimum of two years' experience in a long-term care nursing facility.
    • Prior nursing supervisory experience is desirable.
    • Must have a current, unencumbered, active RN license in the state of practice.
    • CPR certification is mandatory.
