The Michigan Elder Justice Initiative (MEJI) seeks a full-time local long-term care ombudsman to advocate for residents in Ingham Eaton Clinton counties.

The ombudsman will make routine facility visits interview residents provide information on long-term care rights negotiate with staff support resident councils collaborate with legal state ombudsmen maintain case documentation participate in rigorous training coordinate activities with other Lansing area ombudsmen.

Successful applicants will possess strong interpersonal communication problem-solving advocacy time management skills ability to work independently empower vulnerable individuals understanding preferences needs concerns of older people people disabilities essential.
