  • Location: Rock River Fabrication East, US131 & 76th Street area
    General Statement of Duties: Inspection and packing of various tube products into defined packaging for the customer. Responsibilities range from defect identification, inspection, measuring, reworking, counting, cleaning, packing parts, processing tubing through equipment and ensuring quality of tubes being produced and shipped out. Must be able to identify material defects and non-conforming material.
    Supervision Received: Reports directly to the Shift Supervisor and takes direction from area leader.
    Supervision Exercised: None
    Typical Physical Demands: Requires full range of body motion to include constant lifting, bending, twisting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, stooping, squatting, walking, reaching, working overhead, climbing, standing, and the ability to maintain one's balance while performing the required work tasks. Personnel must be able to work 8 hours per day, standing on a concrete floor, correct vision and hearing to normal range. The job requires frequent unassisted lifting of a variety of objects from various positions, which range in weight from 5 pounds to 50 pounds. Utilizes a variety of hand positions to work equipment controls and maneuver tubes throughout the manufacturing process. Most jobs are fast-paced and the ability to deal with stress is essential.
    Typical Working Conditions: Indoor, manufacturing environment with minimal exposure to loud and prolonged noise-when exposed, hearing protection is required. Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include safety glasses with side shields and steel-toed work shoes. Employees experience regular exposure to hot temperatures of 95° F to 110° F in the summer due to the combination of the actual outside temperature and heat from the processes inside the facility. Employees are also exposed to cold temperatures, which is dependent on the actual outside temperature. Employees stand for 8 hours on concrete floors.
    Examples of Essential Duties: A typical day consists of the following tasks. Ensure the equipment is in safe operating condition. Review the computerized work list for the equipment and part, must be able to locate available material. Communicate with the other workers to formulate the running order of material. Perform any necessary set-up during shift. Process the job and stage material for material handlers. Use of SAP for accessing work orders, creating batches and finish goods tags. Must be able to identify material defects and non-conforming material. Use first in first out (FIFO) inventory management to ensure the oldest material is used first. Housekeeping and preventative maintenance duties are required daily. Following all environmental, health and safety policies and procedures are required.
    Performance Requirements:
    Knowledge, skills and abilities: Ability to deal with stress and get along with co-workers and supervisors. Ability to read and speak English is required. Mathematical skills equivalent to high school level required. Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers. Regular attendance at work and punctuality are essential job functions. Education: High School education or equivalent is preferred. Experience: Previous manufacturing experience preferred. Equipment: After training, personnel must be able to operate a variety of industrial machines safely and efficiently. All personnel must be fully capable of operating a forklift or crane.
    Hours: Regular shift is eight hours, Monday through Friday, 7a - 3p. Hours of work dependent upon shift assignment. The shift schedule is subject to change as needed.
    NOTE: Meeting the physical demands, essential duties, performance requirements, working hours and maintaining consistent and regular attendance are essential job functions for all plant employees.
