    Description

    A reputable non-profit in the NYC area is seeking a VP to oversee one of their shelters in Brooklyn, NY.

    • Hybrid or Remote: Fully on site
    • Shift/Schedule: Monday-Friday, business hours
    • Setting: Women's Shelter

    Responsibilities:

    The VP will be responsible for:

    • Clearly communicate both the organization's and funders' policies, requirements, guidelines, and program performance targets to staff.
    • Communicate with peers in other shelters and external agencies on issues related to client progress and best program practices.
    • Work with all staff to set staff performance targets in accordance with contract requirements.
    • Ensure that all direct and subordinate staff complies with the organization's and funders' polices and rules.

    Qualifications:

    • 5+years of experience in leadership
    • 7+ years of experience in social services, specifically working with homeless individuals or those suffering from substance abuse
    • Master's degree in relevant field

    Desired Skills:

    • Experience working with those with chemical dependency
    • Experience working with those with HIV/AIDS
    Desired Skills and Experience

    -Bachelor's degree (B. A.) and three to five years of applicable experience
    and/or
    -equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred.
    -(A license is required of these master's Degrees: Social Work (LMSW or LCSW), Mental Health Counseling, Counseling/Guidance, Art Therapy).
