Introduction
The Division of Fish & Wildlife conserves and manages Delaware's fish and wildlife and their habitats, and provides fishing, hunting, wildlife viewing and boating access on nearly 65,000 acres of public land.
Summary Statement
This seasonal position will assist the Impoundment/Habitat Biologist with various projects statewide. Primary job responsibilities include the management of coastal wetland impoundment habitats, maintenance and manipulations of water control structures, monitoring wetland habitats, and conducting vegetation and wildlife surveys. This position may also assist with the planning and monitoring of wetland restoration projects as well as aerial (helicopter) Phragmites control operations. Work assignments may include working in wetland habitats under uncomfortable work conditions (e.g. heat and humidity and biting insects), driving trucks, operation and trailering of watercraft and UTV's, and assisting with ground based and aerial helicopter herbicide operations. Other duties may include the collection and reporting of environmental data, use of Trimble survey equipment, and data entry using GIS and Excel.Essential Functions
