Production Manager

We are helping a client that is looking for a Production Manager on their team.

This position is responsible for the management of production function, through first line supervision. Reviews all aspects of departmental performance with respect to budget financial plan, plant operating goals and to ensure lean manufacturing compliance.

Background Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Engineering or Business Nice to have
• Working Experience Aerospace CNC machining, grinding, milling, drilling.
• Minimum of five years progressive experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least two years at the supervisory level, or equivalent education and experience
• Knowledge and use of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, Takt, OEE, Five Questions of Continuous
• Improvement, lean manufacturing tools and the ability to teach others

• Additional Qualifications Technical or Functional Competency Requirements
• Strong communication and demonstrable organizational and leadership skills
• Candidates must be able to demonstrate supervisory/managerial skills, including planning, leading, delegating, cost center management including budgeting, cost reduction plans, and customer quality requirements
• Knowledge of the requirements of collective agreements as applicable and health, safety and environment and employment legislation
• Good computer skills an asset

Job Responsibilities

• This position is responsible for the management of CNC production
• Ensure production schedules and quality requirements are met
• Review all aspects of departmental performance with respect to budget, finance plan, plant operating goals and develop continuous improvement plans
• Member of Management Team responsible for planning, budgeting and implementing the
• Production System
• Responsible for prudent management of departmental budget including budget preparation
• Introduce team-based manufacturing concepts and lean manufacturing problem solving techniques to production
• Responsible for implementation of safe work and 5S practices
• Will be responsible for key elements in the safety leadership program
• Play an essential role in the health & safety and quality audit process
