Job summary
The Public Service Department's Operation and Maintenance Division is seeking to fill Seasonal Back-up Solid Waste Operator positions. This position provides assistance with the collection of refuse recyclables and compost throughout the City.Employees will work up to 40 hours/week April to December with possible recall to work year after year
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To Operates a motorized vehicle up to 35 feet in length picks up refuse bags and bundles of yard waste and deposits materials in the side of the vehicle Picks up City recycle carts Picks up City refuse carts and empties them in the side of the packer May operate a bulk item collection truck which requires the ability to lift and move furniture appliances and other large items Washes and cleans vehicles daily inside out Participates in a preventative maintenance program by maintaining packers and other solid waste vehicles Completes daily log trip inspection sheets by recording hand-written information regarding work activities Use tablet to complete service requests worke orders utilizing our asset management software Cityworks
