    Description

    We're seeking a proficient Project Controls Engineer to fulfill a client's requirement in South Plainfield, NJ. If you're passionate about project management, possess strong analytical skills, and thrive in a collaborative environment, we want to hear from you.

    • Interface with managers, field staff, and vendors to complete invoice pricing validation.
    • Facilitate requisitions and project change management effectively.
    • Manage accruals, including new accruals and re-accrual tracking and reporting.
    • Maintain spreadsheets of purchase order values, amounts billed to date, and balances remaining for various projects.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to complete memorandums updating stakeholders on project statuses.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to manage remediation project management directives.
    • Ensure each invoice is processed according to corporate controls.
    • Validate service entries/costs in SAP and review aging reports.
    • Prepare and review journal entries.
    • Provide ad-hoc reporting upon request.
    • Track and support waste data.

    Essential Requirements:

    • Understanding of accrual processes and knowledge of contracts.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint, etc.).
    • Strong data analytical skills.
    • General knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Strong organization, multitasking, and team-building skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.

    Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Demonstrated working knowledge of SAP or other billing, accounting, or customer care systems.
    • Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and data analytics.
    • Utility and/or environmental experience (helpful, but not required).
