  • Under the direction of the Board of Elections (BOE) Administrator and Chief Clerk, this position has primary responsibility of assisting with the training and assigning of over 2000 Poll Workers to more than 466 voting districts across Monmouth County for the June Primary and November General Elections in addition to any other scheduled elections throughout a calendar year. Other job-related responsibilities include the processing of Poll Worker payments after the June Primary and November General Elections; assisting designated BOE staff with the inspections and ADA-certification process of the various poll sites across Monmouth County on an annual basis; participating in the conducting of a state-mandated election audit following the November General Election process and answering and providing information concerning election procedures to the public and other interested parties as stipulated by New Jersey Statutes Annotated-Title 19-Elections.

    •Assist BOE designated staff with the training of more than 3000 Poll Workers in Monmouth County throughout calendar year.

    •Assist BOE designated staff with assigning Poll Workers to more than 466 voting districts across Monmouth County.

    •Answer and respond to inquiries from the public and other interested parties on election-related matters daily.

    •Attend professional conferences and meetings related to the conducting of elections in New Jersey.

    •Assist with inspecting and certifying polling locations as prescribed under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Help America Vote Act (HAVA).

    •Serve as a participant in a state-wide election audit following the November General Election process.

    Requirements:
    Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's degree or equivalent years of office experience; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power point; background in public speaking.

    Spanish-speaking capabilities with strong writing skills are a plus.
