    Community Manager Job Overview

    We seek talented community manager to drive next stage of expansion for CelerData's rapidly growing StarRocks open source project. Community manager will own community experience for StarRocks users, helping CelerData's marketing, sales, and engineering teams craft compelling content and activities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Events Expert - Lead planning events bringing people and partners in StarRocks community together. Work with developer advocate and marketing team operating as primary point person for in-person and online meetups.
    • Community Organizer - Grow open source community is top priority. Own process identifying external communities partnering for growth connecting with current members brainstorming activities driving member engagement.
    • Bridge Builder - Network with managers and members of other relevant communities creating introductions for developer advocate and product team building bridges into those communities.
    • Developing Healthy Open Source to Commercial Pipeline - Collaborate closely with sales team identifying commercial opportunities among open source users ensuring commitment to maintaining healthy open source community centered on supporting StarRocks.

    Requirements

    • Inclusive Mindset - Understand value of creating inviting supportive community environment communicating with users keeping them engaged with StarRocks long term.
    • Track Record of Growth - Growing managing community thousands right in your wheelhouse knowing what it takes to build execute community-building strategy.
    • Affinity for Open Source - Appreciate unique aspects working with technical open source community predicting needs concerns of users operating in this space.
    • Logistics Expertise - Experienced comfortable coordinating internal talent resources partners community exchanging ideas.
    • Experience: 2+ years in community manager role ideally working with communities related to data analytics database cloud infrastructure.
    • Bonus Points:
    • Familiarity working with Slack-based communities.
    • Experience using tools like Common Room.
    • Event management or event marketing experience.
