Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role for an Operations Manager, located in Waukegan, IL. The Operations Manager will oversee daily operational processes, manage resources and schedules, and ensure seamless execution of events. Responsibilities include supervising logistical planning, coordinating teams during onsite activations, and maintaining quality standards for customized products. The role also involves developing operational strategies to enhance efficiency, meeting client expectations, and ensuring successful project outcomes.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Operations Manager to lead the warehouse operations for the largest custom shoe company in the industry.
This pivotal role involves overseeing all facets of warehouse management, supply chain logistics, and distribution processes to ensure seamless production, inventory control, and order fulfillment.
The ideal candidate will drive process improvements, implement lean methodologies, and optimize transportation management systems to elevate operational efficiency. Oversee daily warehouse operations, including shipping & receiving, inventory management, and distribution activities to ensure timely delivery of custom footwear products.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day warehouse operations
Develop, implement, and enforce SOPs
Create and track KPIs for productivity, accuracy, and efficiency
Manage inventory systems and quality control
Improve workflow and reduce operational bottlenecks
Lead and hold staff accountable to performance standards
Implement reporting systems and weekly performance reviews
Supervise warehouse staff, including warehouse supervisors ensuring high productivity standards.
Experience
Proven experience in operations management within a warehouse or logistics environment, preferably in custom footwear or apparel industries.
Extensive supervisory experience overseeing department heads in fast-paced settings with a focus on process optimization.
Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles including inventory control, shipping & receiving, and warehouse distribution.

Qualifications
3+ years experience in operations or warehouse management
Strong experience building SOPs and KPI dashboards

Experience in inventory management systems preferred
