    Requirements:

    Essential Functions:

    Promote frames and lenses recommended by the doctor to meet patient needsAdjust and repair glassesFacilitate patient flowVerify medical and vision insurancesEffectively communicate with patients, doctors, and managersAnswer inquiries through phone, email, and in person requestsAn Optical Technician/Optician will achieve a world class Total Patient Experience that both maximizes the retail sales but also supports the patients' medical needs.

    This employee is trained to dispense and fit glasses and contacts, working from the prescriptions written by Optometrists and Ophthalmologists.

    They connect the patient needs to the good and services we offer.


    Responsibilities:
    60%Embrace and execute our Total Patient Experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great medical supportDetermine patient wants and needs and selling to exceed their expectationsAssist patients in selecting frames according to style and color, coordinating frames with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptionsAble to operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometerEducate and recommend specific lenses, lens coatings and frames to suit patient needsCan accurately collect measurements such as bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and pantoscopic tiltDispense patient orders and repair and adjust patient framesDispense all glasses and/or contact lens orders in E36020%Assist with other Duties as the Office is NeededGeneral office duties and cleaning to be assigned by managerEnsure all job Aids and Policies are followed20%Acknowledge patients in a friendly, approachable way that invites them into the officeMaintain frame standards with cleaning, organization, full and well-presented areasFollow all protocols to keep Frame inventory accurate

    Requirements:

    High School Diploma or GED required; Associates Degree preferred; with a minimum of 1 year in a customer interactive position; or equivalent combination of education and experienceBasic computer skillsCommunication, interpersonal and negotiation skillsAbility to read, analyze and interpret insurance formsFavorable result on Background CheckMust have own vehicle and be insured, licensed driver in current state of residencePreferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Have ABOC or obtained with first 2 years of employment (preferred, not required)Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceAbility to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
