Shift: Nights (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
Variable (including nights, days, and weekends as needed)

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population, including critically ill, behavioral health, and hold patients in a 64-bed ED with 75 bays (including pediatrics and hallway utilization).
• Assess, monitor, and intervene for patients with acute and emergent conditions, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage patient flow, prioritize care in a fast-paced environment, and ensure safe transitions for observation or inpatient admissions.
• Utilize electronic health records (Cerner) for accurate documentation and communication.
• Adhere to infection control protocols, maintain patient safety, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide care in ratios of 4:1 or 5:1, depending on acuity and unit needs.
• Wear navy blue scrubs as required.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Three (3) years of recent Emergency Department (ED) experience required.
• Travel experience required (must have completed at least one contract assignment).
• High-volume, fast-paced ED experience preferred.

Certification & Licensure Requirements:

• Current New Jersey RN License or Compact License.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Note: Pending certifications or those expiring within 30 days of submission are not accepted.

Shift & Scheduling Details:

• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday) or 3 weekends per month, depending on unit needs.
• Holiday requirement: None.
• Requested Time Off (RTO): No more than 3 days accepted.
• No block scheduling or special requests allowed.

Orientation & Onboarding:

• Orientation is mandatory and must be completed in full; failure to do so will result in immediate termination. Once scheduled, rescheduling of classes is not permitted.
• Candidates will receive an email from client Human Resources the Friday before a Monday start date, including:
  • Instructions for signing on to the Virtual Welcome meeting and online HealthStream modules (to be completed prior to 8:30 AM on Monday). Monday orientation will be virtual from your own computer; assigned modules must be completed by Monday, or you will be removed from the orientation list.
  • In-person class schedule (typically Tuesday-Thursday), held at multiple locations. Use HealthStream to confirm class locations on the day of.  Note: POCT class attendance is required and is not during orientation week.
  • Unit-based orientation schedule provided by the manager.
  • Badge ID instructions: Must make an in-person appointment to receive your ID badge during orientation (photo submissions not permitted). The badge is required for clock-ins.
