    Role Location: Midwest US, preferably Chicagoland Area or centrally based (IL, IN, MI, OH)

    Travel: 50%

    POSITION SUMMARY: Gerber Plumbing Fixtures is looking to add a Area Sales Representative for the Midwest. An ideal candidate will be in the Chicagoland area or centrally based within IN, MI, or OH.This role has the overall responsibility for developing business plans and sales strategies that will grow the business and increase revenue. The Area Sales Representative will manage day-to-day client communication and ongoing relationships as it relates to current, new, and upcoming projects. As necessary, this individual will visit clients, attend trade shows and other industry events to capitalize on networking and relationship building opportunities.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Call on a variety of prospective customers such as wholesale showrooms and trade counters, contractors, engineers, and architects
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Sales Representatives from the region
  • Drive new product sales by effectively gaining specifications and acceptance of new products among key influencers.
  • Participate in industry or promotional events (e.g., trade shows) to cultivate customer relationships
  • Developing and maintaining customer relationships by addressing concerns and providing solutions
  • Monitor, research, and analyze market trends to identify new opportunities
  • Maintaining accurate records of all sales activities
  • Monitor competition within assigned region
  • Preparing and presenting reports to the sales team and leadership and recommending improvements to sales processes and strategies
  • Manage accounts of all sizes by representing your team externally with clients and internally by working with Manufacturing Sales Reps and supporting positions
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the clients' position in the market, their product/service, points of difference and competitive landscape
  • Manage client input and feedback for all projects with detailed direction and timelines
  • Establish and build strong working relationships with business leaders at all levels
  • Proactively remain connected to clients and the ever-changing market to access new search opportunities and ensure all viable clients are engaged on a regular and effective basis
  • Flexibility to perform other duties as required
  • REQUIREMENTS:

  • Four-year business, marketing or engineering degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in working in plumbing wholesale or for a plumbing manufacturer
  • Sales training program completion, preferred
  • Proficiency is MS Office suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Goal-oriented with high standards for quality and performance
  • Flexibility to effectively work with others
  • Hardworking, action-oriented, and results driven
  • Demonstrates a "roll up your sleeves" initiative to get the job done
  • Willingness to cooperate and accept added responsibilities
  • Ability to travel 50%
