    Ground Vehicle Systems Center engineering group located in Warren, MI.As an experienced Software Engineer, you will work alongside our U.S.

    Armycustomer, applying your extensive skills and experience in providing technical engineering services tosupport the development of software requirements, architecture, design, code and test for the VehicleElectronics Architecture team in the development of the Next

    Generation Combat Vehicles.


    Essential Job Functions:
    This work will include the development of modular software, integration frameworks, design,development, test of operational software products. It will involve the coordination and integration ofother software activities and products from other supplying entities.

    Software Development with C++ following standard software processes - organizational and industry.

    Excellent communication skills are required to interface with systems and software developmentengineers as well as our government customer.

    Providing guidance in creating new system/software architectures and supporting the design anddevelopment of software necessary to meet the expectations.

    Integrate and Test Software from internal and external software development teams.


    Required Skills:
    Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. citizenship is required.

    Bachelor's degree in Engineering (CS, CE, EE, Math) and 5 years of experience

    (Seeking an individual with a great deal of experience,

    5-7 years experience is the absolute minimum and candidates with Military Vehicle Software experience are a priority).

    Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance.

    Local candidate, comfortable working in a hybrid telework / on-site environment.

    Supporting onsite Laboratory development and integration of application software, with some opportunities for remote telework. (70% onsite).

    Experience developing embedded software for automotive, military, or industrial equipment in a Linux OS with C++.

    Proven Skills in software communication protocols, including Ethernet (UDP/TCP), CAN, and steamingvideo.

    Ability to troubleshoot and debug issues and to help junior developers work through theirs.

    Proficient in OO Software development, C++, Java, Ada, or Python.

    Solid understanding of Linux / Unix and POSIX.

    Experience with writing interfaces, APIs.

    Knowledge of ground vehicle protocols, including CAN, Ethernet (TSN), RS-232, etc.

    Familiarity with embedded systems and general purpose computing hardware.

    Understanding of TCP/IP Networking / Configuration.


    Desired Skills:
    Strong UI development experience using Qt or similar in a Linux environment.

    Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science,

    Electrical Engineering,

    or equivalent and 5 to 20 years of experience.

    Seeking an individual with a great deal of experience,

    5-7 years experience is the absolute minimum and candidates with Military Vehicle Software experience are a priority.

    Ability to write scripts in Linux.

    Proficient Linux experience, including build tool chains, interfacing with 3rd party software, systemutilities, system maintenance, etc.

    Experience developing Software following formal industry accepted processes & guidelines.

    Ability to troubleshoot and debug issues using GDB, hardware debugger.

    Knowledge of military ground vehicle protocols. (desired for candidates with more than 8 years experience.)

    Experience with software development and test pipelines (CI/CD), and experience with developmenttools such as Atlassian, bitbucket, etc.
