    Position Summary & General Job Purpose

    The ideal candidate will provide technical knowledge to assist maintenance and production personnel in the implementation of equipment/system improvements to meet the business goals of ArcelorMittal Texas HBI.

    Responsibilities

    Assist with coordinating third party engineering contracting services from the scope definition phase, to the close out document phase, ensuring the non-interference of new deployments in existing processes, through participation and analysis in its developing phase.

    Provide regular updates to internal customers
    Prepare and present reports and findings by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
    Observe safety, review accident/incident reports and assist in investigations, as required
    Maintain the company's technical documentation updated and available for consultation
    Guarantee the technical support for the project management group, from the feasibility study phase to the coordination of the final acceptance tests, ensuring the technical quality, as well as ensuring the correct technical documentation after changes
    Establish the minimum technical requirements necessary to purchase or modify equipment and/or systems by maintaining technical standards based on national, international, or corporate standards, incorporating new technologies whenever necessary
    Lead, support, participate in, and develop improvement programs and project groups
    Support management in optimizing quality, cost, availability, and performance of equipment
    Coordinate and direct personnel as required

    • Degree/ Certification Required
    Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

    • Language / Proficiency Level
    • Experience
    Technical Writing skills required
    Provide technical support and consultancy to the management structure in the electrical and automation disciplines
    Knowledge of power systems, NEC, NFPA 70E, design and start-up of AC drive systems, design and programming of PLC and HMI based control systems, and reviewing and developing P&IDs
    Familiar with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)

    5 years minimum of heavy industrial experience
    P.E. preferred
    Support management in optimizing quality, cost, availability and performance of equipment
    Anticipate and adopt innovations in business-building digital and technology applications
    Build partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
    Know the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement
    Excellent communication skills working with both professionals, operations personnel, and construction trades
