- Inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment, and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards.
- Plans and implements procedures, programs, and files regulatory reports in compliance with the local, state, and federal agencies.
- Directs the development of short and long-term EHS objectives and recommends goals to management
- Assists with the record keeping, and manuals for these programs (including but not limited to): OSHA, DOT, CTPAT, DNR, FDA, DHS, Local Emergency Planning Coordinators
- Provide leadership in developing, implementing and managing EH&S policies, programs and practices
- Recommend changes to protect workers, and educate employees on how to prevent health problems through the use of safety training programs.
- Assists with the investigation of all incidents and injuries from initial report to closure. Identify their causes and find ways to prevent them in the future.
- Assists with emergency response to environmental, structural, and employee incidents.
- Assists with the drug and alcohol testing program.
- Assists with the company's contractor safety program.
- Lead and manage emergency preparedness and evacuation process
- Plans and implements programs to train supervisors and employees to meet standards and also to enhance the company safety culture.
- Manage Internal & External (customer, government standards) requirements and be the focal point of contact for customers on any EHS related topics.
- Drive and audit EHS compliance to Internal & External (customer, government standards) requirements by all functional departments
- Thorough knowledge of practices and methods for conducting and administering a comprehensive EHS program in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent organizational, problem solving, and prioritization skills
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required
- Must have ability to remain flexible in a dynamic work environment
- High school diploma required
- Minimum of five years of EHS related experience.
- Experience in conducting accident and workplace safety audits and investigations
- Voluntary training in providing First Aid and CPR
