Job Summary

Provides Critical Care Transport Paramedic (CCTP) level of care to Life Flight patients in conjunction with the Flight Nurse. The Critical Care Transport Paramedic functions in Geisinger Emergency Departments, assisting health care providers in delivering care to patients. Qualified to provide care for patients of all ages.

Job Duties

• Provides critical care transport paramedic level until patient care is transferred to a medical facility.
• Maintains patient care documentation in the electronic medical record. Practices within the paramedic scope of practice under medical command.
• Communicates educational needs to supervisors and participates in ongoing training.
• Maintains Pennsylvania Department of Health medical command status.
• Acquires required credential within one year of hire.
• Assists in maintaining equipment and supplies used by Life Flight.
• Ensures cleanliness and organization of medical interior in helicopters.
• Participates in safety briefings, preflight, and post-flight debriefings.
• Acts as a preceptor for new employees and students.
• Maintains awareness of current issues related to paramedics.

Works in a patient care environment, exposed to infectious diseases and chemicals. May require sitting for long periods and ability to lift 50 pounds. Exposed to various conditions and travel may be necessary. Accountable for job obligations and compliance with organization policies.

Graduate from Specialty Training Program (Required)

Experience

Minimum of 3 years related work experience (Required)
